The case of the spoilt child in the neighbourhood
Sample this.
You live in a relatively peaceful neighbourhood with a lot of happy families. One fine day there is a new family who moves in next door. They have, what one would say, quite a spoilt child. He goes around everyday breaking windows, messing up the neatly trimmed gardens, scratching cars, etc in the area. In a nutshell causing havoc.
So as any normal peace loving person would do, you walk up to the parents to complain about the child's misdemeanors. The last thing you would expect is the parents to just smile, shrug their shoulders and tell you that "Oh, he breaks our windows, messes our lawn and scratches our car as well. So its ok you see, we understand, even we are affected." And then they turn around and do nothing to right the kid, let alone own up to the responsibility of the damage the kid has done. You would expect the parents to ground him, scold him, punish him, etc or do anything that would reduce and eliminate the nuisance in the neighbourhood. And if things get out of hand there will reach a point where you will feel like the righting kid yourself!!
Now substitute the parents as the state of Pakistan, the errant child as the anti-social elements operating from inside there and You as India or any neighbouring country affected by the said anti-social elements. So for how long can the state of Pakistan show a cold shoulder to allegations and evidence of terrorists operating from their own territory, do nothing about it and then expect sympathy for the fact that they are affected by it as well??
